The Top 5 Pull-Up Bars Online

If you want to get ripped at home, a good pull-up bar is essential. It’s the cornerstone of every great calisthenics workout. On top of that, it’s a lot cheaper than a gym membership, and if used correctly, can achieve the exact same results.

In this list, we’re going to break down the five best pull-up bars on Amazon. But first, here’s our quick recommendations for the best of two kinds of at-home pull-up bars:

The Best Wall Mounted Pull-Up Bar

The Ultimate Body Press Ceiling Mounted Pull Up Bar

This bar is Amazon’s choice for a reason. It features several useful grip variations, solid construction, and an easy construction process. You can even control the spacing to make sure the bar fits you and your workout.

The Best Door Frame Pull-Up Bar

The Prosource Fit Mult-Grip Chin-Up/Pull-up Bar

This is a great, super affordable option for those looking to get a bar with sturdy construction, and a ton of different grip variations.

5. CrossGrips Pull Up Bar Handles Doorframe and Travel Pull-up Bar

This set of handles is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for equipment you can travel with. As this ‘bar’ is really two separate pieces that hook onto a door frame, you can fit them in just about any bag and take them anywhere—ideal for someone who travels a lot and struggles to stay fit.

There’s really no set up with these. You just put them on the door frame and ten seconds later you’re doing pull-ups. I had no trouble with door damage or durability, and I found the red and black look really cool. The powder-coated handles provided good grip though I’d recommend gloves for longer, more intense workouts.

Overall, this is my #1 choice for an on-the-go and super portable pull-up bar.

4. The Weider Power Tower

This is my choice for an all-in-one calisthenics tower. With it you can do dips, leg raises, pull-ups, push-ups—essentially everything you need for a great full-body calisthenics workout. Of all the home power towers I’ve used, this is the most solidly constructed and aesthetically pleasing. It gives the impression of the solid, bolted to the ground towers you can find in most gyms.

3. Sagler Doorway Heavy Duty Chin Up Bar

This bar is Amazon’s Choice for a reason. It’s the most affordable door frame bar on Amazon and a great value for the price. It’s simple a no-nonsense but gets the job done. The grips are comfortable and varied, but I eventually switched out the foam for grippier tape. The construction process was simple and straightforward.

Surprisingly, the Sagler Bar feels solid and strong even when used by a 200 lb person. However, I wouldn’t push it much past that or use it for more advanced and acrobatic movements. Overall, this is a great bar for someone just starting out and looking to see if calisthenics is really for them.

2. The Promountings I-Beam Pull Up Bar/Chin Up Bar

If you have the opportunity to install an I-Beam Pull Up bar in your house, I recommend it over all other types of in-home bars. For the price, you get something that will never break down, or ruin a doorframe, or take up an entire corner of a room. The Promountings Bar is well made and sturdy as anything you’ll use at the gym.

1. The Prosource Fit Multi-Grip Chinup/Pull Up Bar

As we mentioned at the top, this is the best pull up bar for the price and the #1 best seller in its category. You can’t beat the grips(more than 10!) and the solid construction that didn’t struggle even as I, at 190 lbs. did rapid and dynamic movements on the bar. The set-up process was a breeze, and months later the bar still performs well. For this reason, it’s my go-to recommendation for home pull up bars.
